Ed Kornhauser

Jazz Pianist

Some people try to get very philosophical and cerebral about what they're trying to say with jazz. You don't need any prologues, you just play.

Here are a few choice recordings I’ve done.  Enjoy…

SDSU Jazz Combos I & II- These are concerts recorded at SDSU’s Smith Recital Hall of combos consisting of jazz majors, myself included.  Please forgive the lack in recording quality and the large breaks at the begining of each cut.

Scene (Tom Harrell); rec. 2005

Macaco Pequeno (Kornhauser); rec. 2005

Virgin Madris (Geoff Keezer); rec. 2006

Florita (Kornhauser); rec. 2006

The Tokeli Band- These recordings represent a small portion of work I’ve done with San Diego singer Tokeli.  Some are from the album we released last year (2006), “Where Do You Start?”  The rest are live recordings from a concert this past Valentines Day (2007).

I’ve Got the World on a String (Arlen/Koehler, arr. Kornhauser)

My Romance (Rogers/Hart, arr. Kornhauser)

How Was I to Know? (Carl Hammond)

Cheek to Cheek (Irving Berlin, arr. Kornhauser/Jarrell) & Never Let Me Go (Robinson/Hill, arr. Kornhauser)

Some Older Stuff- These are all older stuff I threw up here for kicks.  This is stuff from my high school days (*ugh!!*)

Footprints (Shorter, APB Heat Activated Rhythm)

Gelato Funky (Kornhauser, Pat McKee on bass & Peter Ryan on drums)

Stone Age (Kornhauser, APB Calling Austrailia)

Videos- These are links to videos on Youtube!  “Hey mom!”
